Unexpected global events and catastrophes can bring about drastic change  and  cause  rippling  effects  in  the  law.  The  field  of  trusts  and estates in the United States has been gradually evolving over time, along with  the  development  and  availability  of  technology.  However,  the COVID-19  pandemic  has  recently  pushed  those  in  the  field  to  find alternatives to traditional in-person meetings and implement virtual audio and video capabilities (“audiovisual capabilities”) on a national scale, directly  impacting  estate  planning  and  the  process  of  how  to  sign  and validate a will.
