Vivian Costandy Michael is an attorney in Anderson Kill's New York office. Vivian's practice concentrates in insurance recovery, exclusively on behalf of policyholders.
Through jury trials, summary judgment, mediation, and settlements, Vivian has helped to recover millions of dollars in insurance assets under liability and property insurance policies sold to banks, government entities, not-for-profits, Fortune 500s, medical practices, and small businesses. Vivian has secured declarations of future coverage for asbestos and environmental liabilities, and she regularly pursues coverage under both general liability insurance policies and specialized directors & officers policies, management liability, and banker's liability policies.
Vivian is a volunteer in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where she represents pro se plaintiffs in depositions and mediations. Vivian also co-chairs Anderson Kill's Diversity Committee.
Prior to joining Anderson Kill, Vivian was a law clerk at a leading employment law firm. She also has worked as a legal intern at the American Civil Liberties Union, Women's Rights Project and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Ronald L. Ellis of the Southern District of New York.
