Edward J. ("Ted") Stein is a litigator in Anderson Kill's insurance coverage group and is the firm's general counsel and ethics partner. He has represented policyholders in environmental, directors and officers, professional liability, fidelity, and other insurance coverage cases against U.S. and London market insurers. Mr. Stein has extensive pre-trial, trial and ADR experience in these matters. Mr. Stein also has represented a broad range of clients in business, banking, and real estate litigation and in environmental litigation and compliance matters. Before joining the firm in 1997, Mr. Stein represented policyholders in similar insurance disputes and environmental matters as an associate with law firms in Los Angeles, California and Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Stein is also a member of Anderson Kill's Financial Services Industry and Regulated Products groups, and is a past member of the Editorial board of IRMI's CGL Reporter.
Mr. Stein has been selected by Super Lawyers for Insurance Coverage since 2010.
Mr. Stein is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cardozo School of Law Lawyering and Legal Writing Center.
Confidential Settlements - Mr. Stein has represented banks in loan loss employee dishonesty claims, resolved through the insurance companies’ payment of the full respective primary limits, along with several other favorable settlements involving D&O and E&O insurance in the financial services sector, products liability insurance, fiscal event insurance, and attorneys, architects, and insurance broker malpractice.North River Ins.
