Wallet Provider Blockchain Sues Crypto Startup Days Before ICO


Coindesk reports on a copyright infringement suit filed by cryptocurrency wallet provider Blockchain against Blockchain.io. While the suit focuses on marks rather than the term "Blockchain," Anderson Kill's Stephen Palley and Daniel J. Healy are not buying it:

"Stephen Palley, an attorney with corporate law firm Anderson Kill P.C., told CoinDesk that "it's an odd argument to make in a trademark infringement action.

His colleague, Dan Healy, explained further, saying that 'BLOCKCHAIN' is a generic term."

Palley and Healy both take on, and dismiss, the argument that the suit is focused on design marks rather than words.
