Labor guidelines signal readiness to crack down on misclassification

By “reiterating 10 times that most individuals are employees,” the US Dept. Labor signaled in new guidelines that it’s ready to crack down on employers who misclassify workers as independent contractors, said Bennett Pine, shareholder at Anderson Kill and chair of the law firm’s employment and labor group.
