Ms. Kahn has tried more than 30 employment jury trials in courts nationwide, including numerous cases before U.S. courts of appeal and one before the U.S. Supreme Court, representing major companies and universities in cases primarily involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims. She also has frequently been retained to investigate complaints of harassment and discrimination against companies, universities and non-profits. Her current practice focuses primarily on conducting such investigations. Further, she has been mediating in New York courts since 2012, when she was certified as a New York State Mediator.
"We are delighted to welcome Dona back to the Anderson Kill family," said Robert M. Horkovich, Anderson Kill's managing shareholder. "Her deep experience in investigating workplace harassment and discrimination claims is especially timely as a new wave of awareness and allegations of harassment impact the workplace."
Ms. Kahn practiced at Anderson Kill from 1990 to 2008, co-chairing the firm's Employment and Labor Law Group for much of that time. She returns to Anderson Kill after a stint in the employment department of another firm and a period in solo practice focused on mediations and investigations of discrimination complaints. Prior to joining Anderson Kill in 1990, Ms. Kahn was a partner at Harris and Kahn, where she represented management in employment matters, both administratively and in federal and state litigation.
Previously, Ms. Kahn served as a supervising attorney in the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Litigation Center in Philadelphia, and as Chief, Legal Branch, Enforcement Division of the Environmental Protection Agency's Region III. Prior thereto, Ms. Kahn also had experience litigating antitrust and unfair trade practice cases under the Packers and Stockyards Act as a trial attorney, U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Ms. Kahn received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her B.A. from Brandeis University.
