Mr. Artese's practice concentrates on insurance recovery litigation, with an emphasis on securing insurance coverage for first-party property losses, third-party liability claims and construction disputes. Mr. Artese has recovered millions of dollars of insurance proceeds on behalf of policyholders in connection with claims for fire losses, equipment breakdowns, property damage and business income losses resulting from natural disasters, aircraft property damage, construction liabilities, asbestos bodily injuries and economic losses resulting from political corruption, among others. Additionally, Mr. Artese represents a wide variety of clients in general commercial disputes and complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy litigations.
Mr. Artese recently obtained an $11.7 million jury verdict in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against a manufacturer of a corporate jet aircraft for breach of express warranty. He is co-author of the book, Legal Issues in Risk Management: A Policyholder's Guide, published by Aspen Publishers, as well as numerous articles on legal issues in insurance recovery and bankruptcy litigation.
Mr. Artese holds a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, cum laude, where he received the CALI Award for academic excellence in Commercial Transactions, Evidence, and a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Margaret C. Reilly, New York State District Court Judge, Nassau County. He also was a staff member of The New York Litigator at St. John's.
Mr. Malone practices in the Insurance Recovery and the Corporate and Commercial Litigation Departments. He is an experienced litigator, focusing on insurance coverage litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on commercial general liability insurance, directors' and officers' insurance, employment practices liability insurance, advertising injury insurance, and property insurance issues. Mr. Malone also possesses extensive commercial litigation experience, including arbitration and alternative dispute resolution relating to a variety of tort, contract, and regulatory disputes. He is a Co-Chair of the Computer Technology Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation and has published and spoken widely on insurance recovery topics.
Mr. Malone holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Moot Court Board and garnered several awards for both oral argument and brief writing skills at various inter- and intra-school competitions. He also taught Legal Writing as an adjunct professor of law at Fordham.
