Mr. Agarwala originally joined Anderson Kill in October of 2000 and is Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. His practice focuses on intellectual property, commercial and unfair competition litigation, and insurance recovery.
Mr. Agarwala has rendered advice on, strategized, litigated, and licensed patents, trademarks, trade dress, know how, and copyrights, as well as matters relating to cyber law, domain names, and trade secrets. His practice includes proceedings before federal and state courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Kanishka also has extensive experience in the transactional aspects of intellectual property, having negotiated and drafted several agreements pertaining to myriad facets of intellectual property.
Mr. Agarwala has defended and enforced patents on behalf of manufacturers of shoes, toys, food products, biochemical products and pharmaceuticals; represented financial institutions, electronics and luxury goods manufacturers, a sports league, and diverse other companies in trademark and trade dress disputes; designed and implemented a comprehensive, global policing and anticounterfeiting program for a global Fortune 500 manufacturer of consumer durables; and defended or enforced copyright on behalf of publishers of literary works and music, authors, software manufacturers, architects and Internet-based forums, among others.
In commercial litigation, Mr. Agarwala has worked on breach of contract actions in a multitude of settings, breach of employment agreements and breach of government oil leases. Prior to practicing in the United States, he practiced law in India.

He holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center (now, University of New Hampshire), Concord, NH; an LL.B. from University of Delhi, New Delhi, India; and a B. Sc. from Bangalore University, St. Joseph's College, Bangalore, India.
