Anderson Kill Names Daniel J. Healy a Partner in its Washington, D.C. Office

Anderson Kill today announced that Daniel J. Healy, a litigator in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, has been named a partner.

Mr. Healy represents policyholders only in insurance coverage disputes. He obtains coverage in claims relating to health and welfare benefits, D&O liabilities, business interruptions, property damage, asbestos products, and intellectual property disputes. He has represented clients in the financial services, manufacturing, mining, transportation, food and beverage and technology industries.

Mr. Healy also litigates all areas of intellectual property law and prosecutes trademarks. He has represented trademark owners in disputes involving domain names and cybersquatting, online infringement and reverse confusion, and has experience appearing before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He has represented a variety of clients in disputes involving claims of unfair competition, copyright infringement and patent infringement, including against the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

After starting his career with Anderson Kill, Mr. Healy worked for over five years as a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division. He served as lead trial counsel and often worked on teams with more junior attorneys while litigating cases involving tax shelters, fraud, substantive tax issues and claims to real property. He regularly appeared in federal, state and bankruptcy courts across the country, including in Texas, California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland and Virginia. While working in the Tax Division, Mr. Healy received numerous awards, including three Outstanding Attorney awards and one Special Commendation. He also served as the E-Discovery Coordinator for the Tax Division. Mr. Healy rejoined Anderson Kill in August 2012 and has worked as counsel until the present.

Mr. Healy is a co-editor of a book entitled ADR and the Law, published jointly with the American Arbitration Association, and is the author of many articles on insurance coverage, benefits and IP topics.
