The Regulated Products Group draws on the firm's experience in established heavily regulated industries such as wine and spirits. It includes eighteen attorneys from across the full range of the firm's practice groups, including corporate and securities, employment and labor, intellectual property, real estate, tax, litigation and insurance recovery.
The new group is chaired by David Graff and Jerry S. Goldman. An aggressive and creative litigator with extensive experience representing sellers of regulated products, Mr. Graff has employed novel litigation strategies and won first-of-a-kind results leading to his recognition by Law360 as a 2014 Rising Star, one of ten outstanding securities litigators under 40 in the United States. The New York Law Journal also named Mr. Graff a Rising Star in 2014.
Mr. Goldman, a former prosecutor, has over 35 years of experience interpreting state and federal laws and regulatory policies that govern regulated products, including cannabis as a regulated substance, from both litigation and corporate perspectives.
Robert D. Lincoln, the firm’s Executive Director commented, "To date, twenty-three states and Washington, D.C. have legalized cannabis for either medicinal or recreational purposes, and other states are likely to follow suit. For businesses breaking new ground in this field, compliance with state and federal laws is imperative. David, Jerry, and the team they've assembled will not only handle the full range of clients' transactional, compliance and litigation needs, but also help them stay abreast of emerging local, state and federal laws and regulatory policies that govern the financing, marketing and retail sale of regulated products."
