The cross-disciplinary team of lawyers is led by Stephen D. Palley, a seasoned litigator with deep experience in software design and development who is well-known in the cryptocurrency community. Mr. Palley has 20 years of experience in litigation and trial practice, as well as significant experience advising corporate clients on day to day governance and risk management issues.
Co-chairing the group is Jeremy E. Deutsch, chair of Anderson Kill’s Corporate and Securities group. Mr. Deutsch has over 20 years’ experience in business law, including transactional and day to day legal counseling as well as complex corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration. In advisory work, he acts as general counsel to a number of businesses.
Mr. Palley commented, "Many blockchain-related projects are launched without first thinking through basics such as governance, indemnification, and directors and officers insurance," He noted further that regulatory action and legal disputes that blockchain-related entities have faced so far have hinged on established principles of law. "The fact that the technology is new does not mean that legal precedent is unavailable to guide our clients."
Mr. Deutsch added, "We have the agility and knowledge to help entrepreneurs on the blockchain maximize their business opportunities while navigating the legal pitfalls. We also bring significant litigation ability, including trial experience, to bear when disputes arise."
Robert M. Horkovich, Anderson Kill's managing shareholder, said, "This team has the right mix of technological acumen, transactional and litigation experience to meet the full range of blockchain entrepreneurs' legal needs."
Other shareholder members of the Blockchain and Virtual Currency group include Joshua Gold and Daniel J. Healy, co-chairs of Anderson Kill's Cyber Insurance Recovery Group; Rhonda D.
