Pamela D. Hans to speak on a panel at the 2014 RIMS Canada Conference on 'Property Losses - Making the Parties and Process Work for You' on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. C.S.T.

After a property loss, several entities with competing interests converge on the property - and dominate a Risk Manager's time and attention. Between the adjuster and consultants hired by the insurance company, and potential counsel hired by the insurance company to investigate liability and coverage issues, the process of collecting insurance proceeds, repairing or rebuilding, and managing the risk of that process, can take on a life of its own. Risk managers need to understand the role served by each player. They also need to understand how to effectively assemble -- and work with -- a team of individuals who can help in not only recovering insurance proceeds but also position your company to repair or rebuild after a loss. To demonstrate how the loss adjustment and recovery process works, our panel experts will take on the role of public adjuster, insurance adjuster, and coverage counsel following a loss.
