Helping Clients Prepare For and Respond to Natural Catastrophes

DATE: Friday, January 8, 2016

TIME: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM

VENUE: CBA Law Center, 30 Bank Street, New Britain, CT 06050

ORGANIZER: Connecticut Bar Association

Although Connecticut has not suffered any major weather events of late, it is only a matter of time before another major storm hits.  This program consists of a CLE presentation on how to advise clients dealing with losses caused by natural disasters, followed by a hands-on training to become a CBA Disaster Hot Line volunteer.

The seminar will provide an overview of homeowner's and commercial insurance policies, review pertinent exclusions in those policies as well as the basics of business interruption coverage, discuss the National Flood Insurance Program, and provide guidance on the claims handling process and proof of loss.
