  • In this practical webinar, you will learn about mediation and arbitration as viable means of resolving disputes, with a focus on disputes relating to intellectual property. Among other things, you will learn how to best communicate your message and equip yourself with tools that will maximize your client’s best interests in an arbitration or mediation proceeding.

    Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

    Determine with your client whether mediation or arbitration is a good fit for resolving the dispute
    Weigh the advantages and disadvantages of hybrid dispute resolution routes in intellectual property
    Describe forum rules that are geared towards mediating and arbitrating intellectual property disputes, including World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) rules
    Determine whether an intellectual property dispute is amenable to Alternate Dispute Resolution according to national laws
    Prepare your client for the proceeding
    Create a plan for the proceeding Draft effective documents that will assist in obtaining the best possible resolution
    Design effective mediation and arbitration sessions that best achieves your clients’ interests
