As a tsunami of ransomware attacks continues to break over businesses worldwide, many policyholders may feel a sense of inevitability and helplessness. But there are steps that can help organizations bounce back quickly. Cyber insurance, GL, crime, property and other types of insurance can spring into action and soften the financial blow while covering the needed forensics and breach coach support needed by almost anyone suffering a breach. In fact, quality insurance can be an invaluable support mechanism to enable survival after a catastrophic attack. But choose wisely—the market is rife with uneven insurance products, and misinformation -- and a number of insurance companies that are beginning to get much tougher on cyber claims.  In addition, decryption tools and support groups are helping cyber victims fight back without complete capitulation to the cyber crooks. Some policyholders are getting their systems back online and foiling malware attacks.  This session will cover the risk landscape, the preventative and post-breach steps necessary to fortify an organization against disaster, and the due diligence needed to cooperate with law enforcement and Treasury Department requirements.
