ESG -- Environmental, Social and Governance policies -- provide a framework for companies to fulfill their functions sustainably and ethically -- and meet criteria imposed by increasing numbers of investors. While ESG initiatives are widely seen as good for business as well as the planet, recently their risks have also become more salient, as the SEC has been cracking down on companies and investment vehicles alleged not to have followed through on implementing their stated ESG commitments. As ESG risks escalate, so do concerns as to whether they will be covered by insurance.
In this two-hour webinar, experts from top global consulting, risk management and law firms will address the history and evolution of ESG, the design and effective implementation of ESG programs, the emerging enforcement and liability risks, the insurance industry's response, and insurance coverage for liabilities arising out recent enforcement initiatives and shareholder suits, as well as for climate-related property damage and business interruption losses.
