TIME: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

VENUE: Live Webinar

This session builds upon the business interruption program presented earlier this month. The financial losses suffered by ports and other entities as a result of COVID-19 are the biggest the world has seen in recent history. It still is unclear if, and how, ports will be compensated for the loss of income during the period of restoration under property and business interruption policies. Many ports have notified their insurance companies that they have suffered losses, but now are faced with the daunting task of selecting and pursuing a path to coverage. This program will discuss insurance coverages which may respond to COVID-19 claims, with a primary focus upon best practices and strategies for quantifying and otherwise preparing, presenting and pursuing a supportable insurance claim. It will also address the impact of any government grants or loans upon insurance claims.
