On June 14, 2019, the New York's Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act was enacted, which profoundly impacts the residential real estate sector throughout our entire state.
Inasmuch as the new law refers to "all rentals," its provisions govern the conduct of coop boards, shareholders who sublease their apartments, and condo owners who rent their units, among other types of landlords, but does not affect condo boards.
During this seminar, we will be discussing how this new law may affect you. We will be highlighting key areas and suggest ways for boards and property managers to adapt to the new landscape. In addition, we will discuss how attorney fees and fines will be affected by this new law.
