For years, courts have provided guidance on the definitions of sexual harassment and sexually hostile work environment, and on the defenses available to employers. We will provide an overview of what constitutes sexual harassment according to legislation, EEOC guidelines and case law. In the current surge of awareness and claims, however, settled practices may not be enough. Dona Kahn, an attorney with the law firm of Anderson Kill, will examine what employers should do when #MeToo claims land. Dona will outline how to create an environment in which unwanted advances are less likely to happen -- and are dealt with fairly and effectively when they do.
