Thomas Petty, a LEED® Accredited Professional, is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Anderson Kill. Mr. Petty practices in the area of commercial real estate with an emphasis on finance, leasing and sustainable development.
Mr. Petty’s traditional real estate practice includes structuring, documenting and closing a broad variety of commercial transactions. As a U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Accredited Professional, Mr. Petty is familiar with the LEED® certification process and advises clients on the use and impact of LEED® standards and on “green” legal issues generally.
Representative Engagements
For more than 20 years, Mr. Petty has represented clients in more than 30 states including the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. His experience includes debt and equity financing, commercial lending, office and retail leasing, sales and dispositions, design and construction, historic preservation and legislative drafting. He has represented owners, developers, asset managers, commercial lenders, investment bankers, pension funds, foreign and domestic investors, landlords and tenants in every type of commercial real estate, including office buildings, retail centers, multi-family residential developments, hotels, retirement communities, flex space, data centers, industrial properties, road construction, golf courses and unimproved land.
Mr. Petty is one of a select group of 175 attorneys from across the globe who was selected as a "BTI Client Service All-Star" in 2009 in recognition for "excellence in delivering superior client service."
