R. Mark Keenan is a leading lawyer in the fields of insurance coverage, securities law and litigation. Mr. Keenan commenced his professional career as a law clerk to Chief Judge Thomas C. Platt of the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York. Mr. Keenan has a very active practice in insurance coverage involving banking, crime, general commercial, D&O, property, securities, professional liability, marine, and other forms of insurance. Mr. Keenan's litigation practice has involved insurance coverage, general commercial, international, accounting, securities, and marine litigation.

Mr. Keenan is chair of the firm's Financial Institutions Group which serves its clients in that industry, including broker/dealers, commercial banks, investment advisors, hedge funds, mutual funds and other financial institutions. Mr. Keenan is also Chair of the firm's Marine Insurance Group.

In addition, Mr. Keenan heads the firm's Insurance Insolvency Group, the purpose of which is to protect its numerous clients in connection with the insolvencies of United States and foreign insurance companies. Mr. Keenan sits on the creditors committees for, among others, English & American, Bermuda Fire & Marine, Sovereign Marine & General, and Transit Insurance.
